The Deputy Mayor of Cairns, Cr Margaret Gill, officially opened the Cairns Art Society¹s 56th Annual Open Art Awards exhibition at Cairns Regional Gallery on Friday 4th October.  It will be on show in the Public Curator and Ireland Family Access galleries until 17th November 2002.

Due to space limitations and the overwhelming number of entries in this year¹s competition, approximately 100 entries from the Awards are being exhibited at Art on Aplin.  Pre-selection was conducted by local artist and Archibald Prize winner, Ray Crooke.  These 100 entries are on show at Art on Aplin until 17th November.
